Explore Other Regions in France

Beautiful Normandy is just a hop across the channel and makes the perfect location for a French family holiday. It couldn’t be easier to drive straight from your home in the UK to your ‘mobile home’ from home at Siblu’s Domaine de Litteau holiday park, thanks to regular ferry crossings to Cherbourg.

The beautiful region of Brittany on France’s North West coast is an ideal choice for a seaside holiday! What’s more, it couldn’t be easier to travel to Brittany on the ferry from the UK, meaning you can bring your own car to France without having to worry about what you’re bringing with you.

Ideally situated with Paris to the North and the sandy beaches of Vendée and the Loire Atlantique to the West, the tranquil Loire Valley is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway in the French countryside where the country's longest river makes its way through greenery and rolling hills dotted with fairy tale castles.

With endless sandy beaches, Europe’s largest sand dune, world-renowned wines and 4 brilliant Siblu campsites, it's safe to say that Aquitaine makes an ideal holiday destination. From the chic city of Bordeaux to beautiful Bayonne in the Basque country, there is so much to explore!

Discover Languedoc! La Carabasse and Les Sables du Midi are perfect for a lively beachside atmosphere; Le Lac des Rêves offers a unique lakeside getaway, and Mar Estang is located between a Mediterranean beach and a nature reserve.

The Côte d’Azur, in the south-eastern corner of France’s Provence region, is a dreamy seaside holiday destination which offers a unique combination of beach resort, stunning natural landscapes and chic urban hotspots.

Named after the Rhone River and the Alps mountains, the Rhone Alps region in southeast France is an area of stunning natural beauty where forests, mountains and rivers meet in a balmy Mediterranean climate. It’s also home to France’s third-largest city, Lyon, famed for its history, architecture, food and wine.

Cities
If you can drag yourself away from the appeal of lazy days on the beach, you’ll find that France’s West Coast is also home to a number of fascinating towns and cities, brimming with culture, history and charm. La Rochelle, the capital of Charente-Maritime, still boasts three intact medieval towers guarding its port. Climb up to the top for beautiful views over the ocean and the buzzing streets below or examine the centuries of graffiti carved into the stone walls (a sobering reminder of how many sailors from all over the world were imprisoned here in the past). Also worth a visit is Saintes, famous for its museums and its Roman ruins (in particular the Arch of Germanicus and the amphitheatre) and Cognac, home to the world-famous brandy. If you’re staying further north at Le Bois Dormant or Le Bois Masson, you’re not too far from vibrant, historic Nantes and the coastal towns of Guérande and St Gilles-de-Croix-de-Vie where you can learn more about traditional methods of salt extracting and sardine fishing, which have been practiced on the West Coast for years.

Beaches
If you’re searching for some of the best beaches that France has to offer, the West Coast is the place for you. The Atlantic waves are perfect for surfing and water sports. Sailing enthusiasts should also make time for a visit to the beach at Les Sables d’Olonne (the starting point for the yearly Vendée globe yacht race). However, the West Coast also boasts plenty of sheltered beaches and bays more suited to relaxing family days on the beach. The beach at St-Jean-de-Monts (near our Vendée holiday parks) and at La Palmyre Bay (near our Charente-Maritime holiday parks) are ideal for this kind family day out where the kids can splash around in gentle waves to their hearts’ content. The region is also famous for its beautiful islands, which are easy to reach for a day trip from the mainland. It’s well worth visiting the Ile de Ré (connected to La Rochelle by bridge), the Ile d’Oléron (great for water sports), and the Ile de Yeu (an active fishing port with beautiful natural diversity).

Events & Days Out
Two of the most popular activities for holidaymakers at our Charente-Maritime parks are the La Palmyre zoo, one of the biggest zoos in France, and the Luna Park funfair, where thrill seekers can get their fix of adrenaline on a range of exciting fairground-style rides. Both are within very easy reach of our Charente-Maritime parks. The West Coast is also home to some of the best theme parks in France: ‘Puy du Fou’ where you can step back in time with larger than life historical re-enactments and shows, and ‘Futuroscope’ where you can get a glimpse of the science and technology of the future. If your visit to Siblu’s West Coast parks coincides with Royan’s ‘un violin sur le sable’ festival, you’ll be lucky enough to witness a live classical music concert like no other. Performed on the beach to over 50,000 spectators against and concluded with a fireworks display, this is an event that everyone can enjoy, no matter what their relationship with classical music. Slightly further north, in Brittany, the Lorient Interceltic festival is a world-famous celebration of the music and traditions of Celtic cultures from all over Europe.
