France: The Home of Wine

If there’s one thing that France is famous for, it’s wine. In fact, two French wine-making regions have even achieved Unesco World Heritage status – meaning they’re “of outstanding value to humanity”! So if you like a tipple when you’re on holiday, why not choose a campsite in or a short drive to one of its many spectacular wine regions so you can taste the best right from the vineyard?

Even the kids will enjoy a visit to a vineyard – they’re usually set in stunning countryside with beautiful chateaux and interesting wine-making equipment with huge barrels to explore. And some provide alcohol-free grape juice for the children to ‘taste’.

But if you’re looking to toast the glitzy, glamorous beaches and sparkling seas you’ll enjoy in this region, why not reach for the sparkling Cremant de Limoux, which is supposedly older than Champagne?
