Ferries to France

If you want the freedom of bringing your own car to France the ferry can be a great way to start your holiday. Many families find that the journey itself becomes an adventure for the kids, especially as many ferries have supervised play areas, cinemas and children’s entertainers. Grown-ups can enjoy the shops, bars and restaurants.

Getting the ferry from the UK is a particularly popular option for visitors to our parks in Normandy, Brittany, Vendée and Charente-Maritime. There are a number of different ferry providers to choose from, with a range of different routes & weekly crossings. Crossings between France and the UK tend to take between 1 and 9 hours. Please check the ferry companies' websites for the most accurate & up to date information.

Getting the Ferry to our Campsites in Northern France

Based in Normandy, our holiday park Domaine de Litteau is a popular choice for ferry travel and is only 40 miles from the ferry port at Caen. Simply drive off the ferry and you could be settling into your Siblu home from home at Domaine de Litteau in under an hour.

Further west in Brittany and the Loire Atlantique, you’ll find three of our holiday parks close to beautiful beaches. Domaine de Kerlann is 81 miles (1hr 45 mins drive) from Roscoff and features lots of sea-based activities such as sailing and sea fishing. Les Pierres Couchées (127 miles from St Malo) and Le Conguel (122 miles from Roscoff) are also great choices for parks near ferry ports.

Domaine de Dugny in the Loire Valley is slightly further (185 miles/ 3 hrs 30 mins from Caen ferry port), but if you don't mind a bit longer in the car it's worth it once you arrive.

Getting the Ferry to our Campsites in Vendée

In Vendée, you’ll find our two sister villages of Le Bois Dormant and Le Bois Masson. Both are 160 miles from St Malo ferry port, and close to each other. Le Bois Dormant (‘The Sleeping Forest’) is the more relaxed, but with access to the water games and evening shows of Le Bois Masson, you have the best of both worlds – loads of fun with somewhere to retreat to! Both camping sites are near to interesting places such as Île d'Yeu, an island with a 14th-century castle built to defend against English pirates…

Getting the Ferry to our Campsites in Charente Maritime

If you don't mind a slightly longer drive from the port you can also bring your own car to our Charente Maritime parks. Relax at Les Charmettes, Bonne Anse Plage and La Pignade – all just a few miles from coastal towns.
